Johanna FraneyBlossoms – Mini session 2018

Sisters that get your butt out the door and taking pictures while the blossoms are in bloom are awesome. 😉 Shannon initiated this mini afternoon photo shoot, and I’m so glad she did! She and her little man brought lots of adorable smiles to this shoot, hilarious reactions to grass (mostly baby ;), and a willingness to try new poses and endless tosses in the air.
The day started out ridiculously windy, and I was skeptical the babies would enjoy it. Then it started raining as I was driving there. Hmmm. When I got there, we ducked inside the greenhouse nearby to see if it would blow over. Sure enough! Our patience was rewarded with no rain, only a calm breeze, and super lush colors. I’m in love with all of these.
Also, we made Hailey get in front of the camera for a few, even if she didn’t “dress up” for the occasion. Pretty sure she makes workout shorts and a messy bun look glamorous anyway, and her mini-me just kills me with those grins.

Jordan and Shannon knocked it out of the park with their laid-back Saturday morning shoot. Casual pajamas and robes? Check. Crazy pets showing off antics? Check. Waffles and bacon? Check. Cute baby boi giving gurgles and grins? Check check.
They even delayed making coffee until I got there. I don’t require that kind of dedication… but I will certainly admire it!
Shannon whipped up a fantastic batch of waffles and whipped cream while we joked about all the pictures making her feel like she was on a cooking show, and Jordan sipped coffee and fried bacon while we chortled about memes; both took turns with the little guy, because one-armed parenting in the kitchen is 100% real life.
After breakfast there was time for some coffee and cuddles on the couch (fur babies included 😉 while little man took a morning snooze, and they’re definitely some of my favorites from this session. Saturday mornings with your best friend, coffee in hand and probably watching your favorite TV show together… that sounds like perfection to me.
Nielands – Snow mini 2018

When you have beautiful snow and beautiful family members, it goes without saying that you should take pictures with both. Jordan and Shannon and their little guy bundled up and braved the winter temps to snag these family photos, and I’m so glad they did! The little man was a trooper, although he wasn’t so sure about me sweet talking him and pointing a camera in his face… photo evidence of his reaction down below (hahahahaha).
Being able to capture these three as a family unit was awesome. Shannon is already such a great mom (and clearly little dude’s favorite, which he let me know), and Jordan takes care of them both well. Couples turning into families = all the yes.
Friends – Snow mini 2018

This session was FUN. I adore fresh snow, and I was desperate to get out and take pictures with it. These four girls (three sisters and a pretty-much-sister) knocked it out of the park with their hand-knit matching hats, bright lip stick, knee-high boots, and a willingness to adventure with me. Now, I may or may not have led them to a spot where the snow was so deep the car got stuck and we had to push it out… #whenyourphotographergetsyourcarstuck but I think the pictures were worth it. =D
